Polyethylene (PE) pipes are widely used for water and gas applications. Special areas of use include marine pipeline installations and for mining applications. Polypropylene (PP) pipes are successfully used for applications where high temperatures and high chemical resistance are required, such as chemical plants, pulp and paper plants and mining industries. PVC pressure pipes are mainly used for underground water applications outside buildings. PEX pressure pipes are used for cold and hot tapwater installations as well as for water carried heating solutions such as floor heating and radiator based heating.
